Starting next week, motorists can expect a series of lane closures within the 165th Place Southeast, 168th Place Southeast and Covington Way improvement project, Covington city officials said.
The closures are planned in three phases:
• In the first phase, traffic may enter and exit at the intersection of State Route 516 and 168th Place Southeast. The roundabout area will remain closed.
• The second phase, which officials said is expected to start Monday and last for three to four weeks, the roundabout area will be open to eastbound and westbound traffic. Motorists will designated exits, but they won’t be able to exit via 168th Place Southeast.
• In the third phase, which officials said will immediately follow the second one and continue for two weeks, the roundabout’s north, east and west legs will be open. Motorists will be able to enter and exit via 168th Place.
