King County Fire District 44 is jumping on the technology bandwagon, according to district spokesman Tim Perficul.

The fire district also know as Mountain View Fire and Rescue, which includes Black Diamond, “is trying to stay current with the times” by getting information out to people.

“One of the newest ways that we are trying to do this is by the use of Facebook,” Perciful said in an e-mail. “We have just posted a group on Facebook that people can join to see what is going on with our department, volunteer recruit academy information, burn bans, etc. The page is open to the public and I hope to keep it up to date with things going on in the department and the area that we serve.”

For those who are already Facebook members, search the “Groups” section for KCFD 44 to join the group.
