Kent Fire Department to give new coats to kids in need

"Operation Warm" will begin Oct. 16 at Scenic Hill Elementary

The firefighters of Kent Fire Department RFA Local 1747 and the Kent Firefighters Foundation will be delivering new coats to two local elementary schools next week as they participate in Operation Warm.

The coats will be handed out on two days. On Thursday, Oct. 16, they will be at Scenic Hill Elementary in Kent from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

On Friday, Oct. 17, they will be at Seahurst Elementary in Burien from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Operation Warm provides coats to children in need – which keeps them warm, helps families with limited budgets, and promotes a higher sense of self-esteem in the kids. Many have never owned a new coat before and have always had hand-me-downs.
