The summer of 2013 marks the fifth year of the Jammin’ Summer Parade Marching Band. Under the direction of Kentlake High School band director Chuck Stowell and open to youth and and adult musicians.
The band participates in 4 community parades during the month of July — Enumclaw 4th of July Parade, Kent Cornucopia Days, Covington Days and Renton River Days.
The Jammin’ Marching Band, sponsored by the Carly Stowell Foundation, is unique in that it adopts different musical theme and style every year. This summer the band is paying tribute to, Devo, alternative rock icons from the 1970s, with music such as “Whip It”, “Jerkin’ Back and Forth” and ‘Through Being Cool”.
Registration materials, as well as rehearsal and performance schedules, can be found on carlystowellfoundation.org. The cost, including uniform, is 25.00.
The first rehearsal is at Kentlake High School on Tuesday, July 2. Registration materials will also be available at that rehearsal.
