Firefighters work to stop flames from spreading to nearby home

Firefighters from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety and from the Kent Regional Fire Authority were dispatched to the Timberlane area around 2:19 this afternoon.

Firefighters from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety and from the Kent Regional Fire Authority were dispatched to the Timberlane area around 2:19 this afternoon.

Callers reported a trailer in the 19000 block of SE 266th street that was parked next to a house was on fire. The trailer was parked one foot from the eaves of the home.

According to a press release from the Kent RFA, there was heavy smoke coming from the trailer when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters worked to protect the house against the spreading of flames. The release stated the heat from the trailer was so hot, it melting the siding on the house.

The fire gutted the trailer but no flames entered the home.

The fire is under investigation and there were no reported injuries.
