Female shot and killed by male suspect in Covington

Detectives located the male suspect who appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Around 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27 the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to 911 calls from someone inside a residence near the 25000 block 180th Ave. SE in Covington.

The caller reported a shooting had occurred at the residence, according to a media release Friday from the Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived on scene, they removed four adults and an infant from the home. They were all uninjured, the release stated.

A 30-year-old female was located deceased inside the home. The release stated she died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies believed the male suspect lived at the residence and could still be inside.

Deputies waited for the Sheriff’s Office TAC30 SWAT team to arrive. The SWAT team were able to locate the 32 year old, with the help of a robot and pole camera, inside one of the bedrooms.

The release stated, he was deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A shotgun was found inside the bedroom with the male subject.

“Detectives are confident that there are no suspects outstanding in this incident,” the release stated.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.

The release stated the two were not dating but did rent separate rooms in the same house.
