Evergreen Hospice and Palliative Care offers a center of care

The words don’t make sense the first time you hear them.

“Your condition has gotten worse and your treatments are no longer working,” your doctor says.

Then, in the middle of the night, reality hits: You realize you don’t have long to live. Instead of feeling hopeless, take control of your situation by asking for hospice services.

Hospice care is about how you live. Evergreen Hospice and Palliative Care puts the patient and family at the center of the circle of care, supported by a team of expertly trained doctors, nurses, social workers, home health aides, chaplains, volunteers and bereavement counselors. They work together to focus on the dying person’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The goal is to keep the person as pain-free as possible with loved ones nearby until death.

The Evergreen Hospice team can help manage pain and symptoms, provide emotional support, provide needed medications, medical supplies and equipment, teach loved ones how to care for the person and provide grief support to surviving loved ones and friends.

Evergreen Hospice and Palliative Care is unique in that we have a beautiful hospice inpatient center for short-term care when pain or symptoms become too difficult to manage at home. Once the pain or symptoms are under control, the person may be able to return home.

Hospice services are covered by many insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid.
