Covington Planning Commission and Economic Development Council seats open

The Covington City Council is accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Planning Commission. The terms are four years beginning Sept. 1 and applications are due by Aug. 18.

The Covington City Council is accepting applications to fill vacancies on the Planning Commission. The terms are four years beginning Sept. 1 and applications are due by Aug. 18.

The city is working on projects that will shape the future of downtown Covington and members of the Planning Commission play a role in that process. The Planning Commission is also responsible for providing recommendations to the City Council regarding potential annexations, public participation efforts, comprehensive land use plan and more. The Planning Commission also conducts design review when required by land use ordinances.

Interested citizens can acquire an application at Covington City Hall or download from the “Forms and Downloads” section in the commissions category of the city’s Web site at www.ci.covington.wa.us.

Current members serving in positions with terms expiring must submit an application to request reappointment and applicants will be briefly interviewed by the City Council.
