DUI: 31100 block of 3rd Avenue. An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 31100 block of 3rd Avenue following too closely of the vehicle in front of it.

  • DUI: 31100 block of 3rd Avenue. An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 31100 block of 3rd Avenue following too closely of the vehicle in front of it. Since the weather was rainy the officer determined this to be extremely unsafe and stopped the vehicle. The officer found the male driver smelled of alcohol as he spoke. The driver denied drinking any alcohol, but exhibited numerous other signs of intoxication. A driving under the influence investigation was conducted and the man was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. Upon submitting to a breath test the driver was booked into Enumclaw jail on a charge of DUI.
  • DUI: 23000 block of the Auburn-Black Diamond Road. An officer spotted a vehicle speeding eastbound in the 23000 block of the Auburn-Black Diamond Road. As the officer continued to follow the vehicle as it crossed the white fog line around the 31200 block of 228th Avenue Southeast and nearly struck a mailbox. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the male driver. The officer immediately noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath as he spoke. The driver advised he was coming from a football game in Seattle and later admitted to drinking. A DUI investigation was conducted and the driver was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. Upon submitting to a breath test the driver was booked into Buckley jail on a charge of DUI.
