VANDALISM

• Maple Valley police are investigating vandalism at the site of the new Tahoma High School. According to a post on the Tahoma School District’s Facebook page, a window was shattered, fire extinguishers were set off, graffiti was written in several locations and floor sealant was spilled. The damage has been estimated at $25,000. The damage is covered by the contractor’s insurance. Additional security cameras are being installed. Anyone with information, is asked to contact the Maple Valley Police Department.

LARCENY

• On Aug. 22 it was reported that an unknown suspect used a wooden stick to unlock the victim’s car door while parked at Fred Meyer. The police report stated the victim’s purse was taken among other items that were left in the car.

• On Aug. 22 an unknown suspect reportedly stole a tool bag from the back of a victim’s pickup.

• On Aug. 24 the reporting party contacted officers to let them know that a package was stolen off their doorstep.

BURGLARY

• On Aug. 24 officers responded to reports that unknown subjects used a hide-a-key to enter a home and forced their way into a detached garage.

ASSAULT

• On Aug. 23 two subjects were at the Covington Taco Bell when they reportedly got into a fight with four others. The police report stated the two followed one of the four home and assaulted them following the argument.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

• On Aug. 19 officers responded to reports that a 17 year old autistic girl was missing from her home. The police report stated that she was found by the occupants of a known drug house.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

• On Aug. 25 officers responded to reports that a vehicle was parked in a reserved spot at an apartment complex. The vehicle had a flat tire and no license plates. The report stated the vehicle’s registered owner’s were from Edmonds.

OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER

• On Aug. 24 it was reported that a person with a warrant was providing officers with a false name.

Controlled substance violation

• On Aug. 28 while officers stopped at Safeway, while walking into the store noticed a vehicle parked in the handicap stall without a permit. Upon contact, officers reported the driver had a soda can that may have contained methamphetamine.
