Parkinson’s support group offered in Covington

A newly formed Parkinson’s Neighborhood Support Group for people challenged with Parkinson’s Disease is scheduled for 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Following the first meeting there will be one the last Thursday of each month at the LA Fitness Center, 27245 Ave. S.E., Covington.

The Parkinson’s Association has recorded over 160 individuals affected with Parkinson’s in Kent, Covington, Maple Valley and Black Diamond.

Rick Pasko was diagnosed with Parkinson’s three years ago and he will head the monthly support group meetings.

“Since I contacted the disease I’ve experienced many changes in my life,” Pasko said. “After a period of depression, I’m now upbeat and have reverted back to my original way of living. I want to share my experiences and personal solutions to fight this strange disease with others.”

These support group meetings will hopefully help those affected with Parkinson’s to improve their daily life and receive helpful reports from everyone attending.

Family members and caregivers are also invited to attend. Please RSVP Rick Pasko if you plan on attending at 360-886-9686 or 206-841-6728.
