June, a traditional wedding month, is over. But King County’s parks are still ripe for nuptials, officials say.

And to encourage couples to tie the knot in its parks, the county Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the Summer of Love contest.

To enter, said parks director Kevin Brown, go online at http://www.metrokc.gov/parks/rentals/summeroflove.html and pick one of five county parks where you’d like to be married. The winner will receive a no-fee use of the park and a two-night stay at the Redmond Inn.

County parks offer “great wedding locations that highlight the unique natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest,” said Brown.
