In a recent letter to the editor from former Black Diamond City Council member, Bill Boston, residents of our city were told, in essence, to get over it, roll over and accept, without question, every last detail of the massive YarrowBay development. This means accepting traffic nightmares, declining water quality, disappearing wildlife, and a degraded environment.

Remember that when Bill Boston was on the City Council the entire YarrowBay development proposal was rubber stamped by the majority of the council with Mayor Olness and the city attorney supporting every argument made by YarrowBay and opposing every objection to the proposal, including many made by residents of Black Diamond.

We now have a chance to elect council members and a mayor who will make certain that, as development occurs, the rules are followed and not let those running YarrowBay do whatever they want.

Vote Dave Gordon, Carol Benson, Janie Edelman and Erika Morgan to assure an open and responsible government.
