Multiple agencies responded to a residential fire Sept. 29 around 3:45 p.m. on SE 296th St in unincorporated King County near Covington and Kent.

There were no injuries and a mobile home was approximately seventy-five percent involved in flames when the first units from Mountain View Fire & Rescue arrived on scene. Additional units from Kent, Valley Regional Fire Authority, and Maple Valley helped attack the fire from outside the residence and help with water operations.

There was not a fire hydrant nearby so various engines and water tenders had to shuttle water from the nearest hydrant, which was a few blocks away, to the fire. Mountain View Fire & Rescue had a crew at the residence overnight to continue with overhaul.

This fire is still under investigation. Red Cross was called to help the resident since his home will probably be a total loss.

Mountain View Fire would like to thank Kent Fire, Valley Regional Fire Authority, Maple Valley Fire, Zone Three Explorers, The Soup Ladies, The Red Cross, and everyone else that assisted with the fire.
