Racing noise complaints unjustified | Letter

It was amazing to read Larry and Linda Worden’s long letter (“Do something about noise from Pacific Raceways” May 20 edition) complaining about noise from Pacific Raceways.

These people can’t tolerate a few days per year when racing occurs? They admit they moved in knowing a racetrack was near and now they want “governing bodies” to “do something” about the noise.

May I point out that “governing bodies” have allowed (indeed encouraged) the relentless development in southeast King County, which has led to traffic jams through Covington, barking dogs, graffiti, crime, fast-food litter, noisy helicopters racing overhead, etc., etc.

The difference is, racing events usually happen on a few weekends whereas all that other stuff happens EVERY BLESSED DAY!

The solution to the Worden’s complaints is for them to move to Eastern Washington before their “governing bodies” decide to prevent more “Wet Siders” from moving over there.
