Fireworks should be banned in residential areas

I think they should ban (fireworks) in residential areas. Last year was extremely dry. Someone should have stepped up and banned it last year. We had a lot of dry grass and trees and bushes. When you or I were a kid we didn’t have these powerful fireworks like they do not.

My folks didn’t have the money to dish out to buy fireworks like parents do these days. We had to work for it. Find pop bottles to buy more. We only shot off on the 4th.

Things are way different these days and some things need to be treated differently.

Damage never happens to the property or homes of the ones doing it or being irresponsible. Acts of God as they say. I don’t think so. If you notice each year more and things occur. Bottle rockets are the worse.

All should donate money like Seattle to put on fireworks display. Fireworks have just become a lot more dangerous. Most who buy go to the reservation. No fireworks should be shot off until the month of July at least.

Might be nice if we celebrate the meaning of our holidays so kids understand. Not just barbecues and fireworks. Just like Veterans Day. All it means to kids is a day off of school. People went to war and many died so they can have these freedoms. We need to show our people in the service and veterans our appreciation. Same with Memorial Day. It’s just not a three day weekend.

It’s a shame you can’t go anywhere because you want to be home before dark cause your worried about your house. That’s when you begin to hate fireworks. Yes, a lot more people were really concerned because it was so dry. Houses are built a lot closer now. I don’t know about you or others, but I worked hard to get my home. Last year I was terribly worried. Was glad we got new roof and not a shake roof anymore. A lot of people have them. Last year we were lucky around here. Could have been a lot worse with fires.
