Maple Valley Rotary awarded $19,000 in college scholarships to five Tahoma High School students.
• Kelly Apperson, 3.98 grade point average, received $5,000. She plans to attend Whitworth or Seattle Pacific University. She was on honor roll, rotary student of the month and a Rotary Interact Club member. Apperson has helped out with Hurricane Katrina victims, has gone on numerous church mission trips and helps with feeding the homeless. All of this while lettering in multiple sports.
