Covington seeking applicants for Parks and Recreation Commission

The city of Covington is accepting applications to fill two upcoming openings on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Commission currently meets at City Hall the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Both position terms begin Feb. 1, 2011. Adult terms are for three years; youth terms are for one year.

The city of Covington is accepting applications to fill two upcoming openings on the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Commission currently meets at City Hall the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. Both position terms begin Feb. 1, 2011. Adult terms are for three years; youth terms are for one year.

One position is open only to a person living or working inside the Covington city limits. The other position is open to a person living or working in Covington or living outside city limits (but within a three mile radius). Both positions are open to adults or to youth between the ages of 14 and 18 years.

Completed applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 20. Interviews with council are tentatively scheduled before the regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 11. An interview schedule will be established and applicants will be notified appropriately.
