Gerken has proven dedication to city on Maple Valley City Council | Letter

Over the years Noel has exceeded my expectations as a council member. He has proven over and over his dedication to our city and its changing needs.

When I first met Noel Gerken he was out in the community supporting and actively participating in community events to help the city of Maple Valley. These events included work on Lake Wilderness, the Lake Wilderness Park and meetings to help improve Maple Valley. Noel showed he cared for our city. His caring is why I voted for him when he first ran for a council position. Over the years Noel has exceeded my expectations as a council member. He has proven over and over his dedication to our city and its changing needs.

Noel is aware that our community is continually changing and because of this Noel has made safety one of his priorities. In the last few years we have become a safer place to live with the addition of four new police officers.

Transportation is another area that has changed with more people in Maple Valley and the community areas around Maple Valley. Noel made a promise to help improve our transportation needs and he is doing it. Noel is on several regional transportation forums and has helped with getting dollars directed to our community.

As we have changed so have our needs for future economic development. Noel is pro-business and supports new responsible businesses moving into our community. Business such as Fred Meyer that will add needed jobs, services and tax revenue to Maple Valley.

As Maple Valley moves into the future we will need someone with experience and proven leadership to help the city with the changing needs. Noel is that person and has my vote for City Council.
