Incident of the week
Sunday Sept. 15 at 6:23 p.m. in the 25000 block of 238th Avenue SE Maple Fire & Life Safety was dispatched for a lightning strike. Neighborhood residents could smell smoke but were unable to determine the source. Firefighters responded and while on scene were approached by one of the residents stating that her house had been struck by lightning. The lightning strike blew a one-foot hole through the exterior siding and through the interior sheetrock of the home. Firefighters checked the house and determined there were no fire problems. No one was injured.
