Covington residents who have a passion for art are needed to fill three open spots on the city’s arts commission.
Commissioners are residents who are advocates, proactive participants and leaders in Covington to help spread art awareness and grow local art, according to a city press release.
“Now is your chance to join this group of concerned and dedicated (residents) who play a significant role in city government,” the press release stated. “Art commissioners serve the city as advisors to the to the city council in matters of art and coordinate various art programs and events in the city. Commission members participate in advisory, advocacy and planning activities related to the arts.”
Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Members are also expected to attend occasional events and participate in volunteer activities/community events.
“Serving on the Arts Commission is a fun and rewarding experience!” the press release stated. “If you would like to exercise your creativity, serve your community and promote art in Covington, please complete an application.”
