School bus engine catches fire – no children on bus | Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety Fire Report

Firefighters were dispatched to a commercial vehicle fire at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 28 in the 27200 block of Southeast 216th Street. Responding firefighters observed a trail of oil on the road leading to a school bus which had white smoke coming from the engine compartment. The bus driver told firefighters that the engine was fully involved in fire and he had used two dry chemical fire extinguishers to control the fire.

The bus driver told firefighters that the engine was fully involved in fire and he had used two dry chemical fire extinguishers to control the fire. Firefighters used water to cool the engine compartment and ensure that the fire was completely extinguished. Other than the driver, the bus was not occupied and no one was injured.
