The Kent School District will host a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the new Covington Elementary School on May 5, at 4:30 p.m. Covington Mayor Jeff Wagner, School Board President Karen DeBruler, Superintendent Calvin J. Watts, and Covington Principal Sarita Williams will speak at the event.
The school follows a similar design of the new Panther Lake Elementary in Kent. A major difference will be the parking-lot layout. There will be a separate entrance and exit for busses from the student drop-off.
The school is designed for grades kindergarten through sixth grade and will serve more than 600 students.
