Voted the best triathlon in the Pacific Northwest in 2011 and 2012, the Lake Meridian Triathlon presented by Outpatient Physical Therapy is returning to its birthplace at Lake Meridian Park in Kent on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Athletes from all over Pacific Northwest will be competing for overall and age group awards in one of 3 distances which cover anywhere between 20 and 35 total miles of swimming, biking, and running.
Novice triathletes are encouraged to race in the “Super Sprint” distance – which features a shorter swim, the leg of the race typically the most challenging for new triathletes.
Thousands of dollars of raffle prizes will be given away to registered athletes including a Cannondale bike valued at $2,450 and prizes will be thrown to enthusiastic spectators at the finish line celebration.
Athletes, Spectators and the public are invited to enjoy a pancake breakfast, the proceeds of which will benefit the Seattle Children’s Hospital Teen and Young Adult Cancer Program.
Raise the Bar produces the Lake Meridian Triathlon among other events, and manages the adult triathlon team of the same name.
