Jebrica swept past Marvin’s Magic past mid-stretch and pulled away for a 3 1/4-length victory Saturday in the $17,600 Jack and Helen Wiesen Celebration Purse for 3-year-olds at Emerald Downs.

With Pedro Terrero riding his third winner on the card, Jebrica ran six furlongs in 1:09.82 on a fast track and paid $7.60, $5.40 and $4. Jim Penney is the trainer for owners Ron and Rosalie Warren of Olympia, WA.

The victory was worth $9,680 and pushed Jebrica’s earnings to $32,970. Bred in Washington Fred and Debbie Pabst, Jebrica is by Liberty Gold-Peaceful Wings and has a 2-0-1 record in five starts including a third in the 2010 Gottstein Futurity.

Cody’s a Bobcat, a 36-1 long shot ridden by Javier Matias, rallied from far back finish second and paid $35 and $15.40. Marvin’s Magic, ridden by Robert Skelly, edged clear into the stretch but weakened slightly to finish third. Marvin’s Magic paid $3.60.

For a second straight day there were no perfect tickets in the $0.50 Pick 5 and the carryover is $8,009 to Sunday.

The late $0.50 Pick 4 on races 6-9 paid $7,243.05, the second highest payoff of the season.

NOTES: Trainer Alan Bozell swept the early daily double with long shots Roxy Skylar ($21) and Tricky Taradiddle ($18.60). The 3-2 “Boz” daily double paid $259.80 for $2…Frank Lucarelli saddled two more winners and has five wins the last two days.

Trainer Jose Raudales saddled his first winner of the meet as Thriller G posted a $43.20 upset in the nightcap.

Leading rider Leslie Mawing rode two winners and leads Joe Crispin 45-42 in the Thoroughbred rider standings.

Upperline, a 4-year-old Maria’s Mon filly co-owned by Emerald Downs Vice President Jack Hodge, was a 3-½-length winner in the $100,000 Trillium Stakes at Woodbine in suburban Toronto. Upperline ran 1 1/8 miles on polytrack in 1:50.64 and paid $6.50 as the second choice in the wagering.
