Deadline for voter registration for April 26 special election is Monday

“Now is a great time to visit King County Elections and register to vote,” said Sherril Huff, Elections Director. “Election Day is approaching and once registered, you’ll receive ballots for all future elections.”

Special election ballots must be postmarked by Election Day, April 26, or returned to a ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on that day. There are five ballot drop box locations available for you to return your ballot without a stamp.

Registered voters who have not received a ballot, or need a replacement, should call the voter hotline at 206-296-8683.

How to register to vote

People who are not currently registered to vote in Washington should visit the Elections office at 9010 East Marginal Way S. in Tukwila by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 18, to register in person. Elections office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Who can vote?

To be eligible to vote, you must be:

• Eighteen years old by April 26

• A United States citizen

• A legal resident of the state of Washington

• Not under the authority of the Department of Corrections

Voters can visit the Elections website, www.kingcounty.gov/elections, or call the Elections office at 206-296-VOTE for assistance and information.
