The King County election returns for Friday sealed the political fate of Maple Valley Deputy Mayor Glenn Smith who conceded the race for Position No. 2.
Although the updated numbers Friday at the County election site increased his percentage of the pie, Smith said he was “calling it and throwing my full support behind Bill Allison.”
Smith went from just below 19 percent Wednesday, 396 votes to 20 percent with 596 votes Friday.
Jim Flynn is leading the race for Position No. 2 at 47 percent and Allison is at 32 percent.
The Wednesday results had Flynn at 49 percent with 914 votes and Friday he dropped to 47 percent with 1,400 votes.
Allison climbed from 31 percent Wednesday and 581 votes to 947 at 32 percent Friday.
The County election site updates the numbers at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The election will be certified Sept. 2.
