Tahoma High throwers to do well at region 13 meet

Several Tahoma High School throwers have qualified for the Junior Olympic National Championships, July 23-29 in Baltimore, Md.  The qualification meet was the Region 13 Championships July 6-7 in Bend, Ore.

Top five qualify for the National Championships in Baltimore.

Dallas Hayes won both the shot put with a throw of 50 feet, 9 inches, and discus which he hurled 149-8 in the Young Men’s Division.

Brock Eager won both the shot put with a throw of 40-4, and hammer which sailed 165-10, and third in discus with a throw 120 feet in the Intermediate Boys Division.

Savannah Haverfield throw of 123-5 was good enough for a third place finish in the Young Women’s Javelin.

Claire Whiting’s throw of 118-6 put her at fourth in the discus in the region in Young Women’s division to go along with a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 34-2.
