- BRUSH FIRE: The 28800 block of Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road. A brush fire consumed 20 acres for four hours before it was put out by firefighters. Aided by Mountain View Fire and Rescue the firefighters encountered 15 foot high flames with smoke and fly ash blowing across the highway. The fire, fueled by strong winds, was difficult to access due to down trees from the recent snow and ice storm. One crew remained overnight to keep watch for any flare ups. The cause was determined to be from the misuse of a road safety flare.
