The “Hooked On Fishing” Trout Derby on Lake Wilderness took place over the weekend from Friday, April 26 to Saturday, April 27.

The event was put on by the Maple Valley Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Maple Valley Rotary and the city of Maple Valley.

The event included prizes, fishing, fish school for kids nine and under along with food for everyone.

This is the one time a year that the city allows people to camp at Lake Wilderness. Campers endured a rainy night that evening, but the sun came up the following morning, which made for some great fishing.
