Fire crews have left the scene of Highway 18 brush fire

As of 11 a.m. today, Aug. 23, fire crews have left the scene of the brush fire along state Route 18 near Covington.
According to a Facebook post by the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, the cause of the fire was burning material from a “bee smoker” that landed in dry grass.
The post continued, the fire is considered to be accidental.
The brush fire burned 10 acres but no structures of any kind were damaged, the post read.
“Puget Sound Fire would like to thank the firefighters from throughout the region that responded to this incident. Their help and expertise kept this incident from becoming a much larger event,” the fire authority wrote on its Facebook.
