Falcons drop first game, 35-14

Friday night lights returned to French Field Friday when the Kentlake Falcons opened the season with a home game against Graham Kapowsin.

Despite an early lead, the Falcons fell 35-14 to the Eagles.

Kentlake took a 7-0  lead late in the first quarter on a one yard run by junior running back Micah Vaifale.

With a seven run lead, the game headed into the second quarter.

Graham Kapowsin took over and scored all 35 of its points.

Returning from halftime, showed a scoreless third quarter for both teams.

The Falcons scored the final points of the game on a 15 yard quarterback keeper by senior Cody Faulkner with 6:19 to go in the game.

Kentlake travels to Federal Way today, Friday, for a non-league match up against Decatur.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Federal Way Memorial Field.

Tahoma

The Bears started the season 1-0 after beating Mount Rainier 51-13 Friday.

Tahoma returns home to host Rogers of Puyallup at 7 p.m. today, Friday.

The Bears lead the South Puget Sound League 4A Northeast division with a 1-0 record.

Kentwood

The Conks started its season under first year head coach Mike Bush with an away game against Curtis Friday.

Kentwood lost 34-24.

The Conks return home this week for a 7 p.m. game today, Friday, against Emerald Ridge.
