Jerry Woods Holiday Engine collects $11,000 for Maple Valley Food Bank

The Jerry Woods Holiday Engine Food Drive collected more than $11,000 and 20,000 pounds of food for families in the Maple Valley, Covington and Black Diamond area, according to Scott Webster with Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety.

The fire department and Maple Valley FoodBank sent trucks out the first three weekends in December collecting food and cash donations.

Woods started the program, then named just “Holiday Engine,” in 2008 and died in 2010.
