Cedar Grove Composting offers $2,500 Seeds for Scholars scholarship at Tahoma High School

Cedar Grove Composting will award a $2,500 scholarship to a graduating senior at Tahoma High School for the second year.
The Seeds for Scholars scholarship program, recognizes a Tahoma High School student based on demonstrated interest, action and achievement in issues surrounding sustainability and the environment.
This can include, but is not limited to, Green Team membership, completion of an Eagle Scout project involving building a garden, supporting school’s recycling and composting efforts, selecting environmental courses, attending nature or environmentally based summer camps, and more.
The scholarship includes: $2,500 payment made directly to the college of acceptance in 2014, the opportunity to be interviewed for a summer internship at Cedar Grove in the summer of 2014 and every summer thereafter while the student is in college, and a dinner for the scholar and their parents.
The student must demonstrate that they will graduate with a 3.0 or higher grade point average.
The student must have demonstrated leadership qualities throughout their high school career including such traits as respectful of teachers, helping other students, good sportsmanship, and compassion.
The student must be attending post high school education. Students planning to attend four year universities, community colleges and vocational/technical colleges are all considered.

Priority consideration will be given to students who attended school in the Tahoma School District since kindergarten.
