What’s blooming at Lake Wilderness Arboretum | Jan. 14

The Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation announces the commencement of this year’s Student Art Contest, an opportunity for students to show their creative talents by creating original artwork expressing the theme, “Your favorite part of the Arboretum.”
The contest starts Friday, Jan. 17. All artwork entered in the contest must be accompanied by an entry form, available online at LakeWildernessArboretum.org, and must be received by the Arboretum by 4 p.m., Friday Feb. 28.
Students ages three through 18 years, who are currently attending any grade from preschool to grade 12 within Maple Valley or bordering cities are eligible.
Winners will be chosen by a judging panel selected by the Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation. Students who submit winning entries will receive an online exhibition of their artwork on LakeWildernessArboretum.org, will be showcased in the 2014 Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation poster, will be recognized in local media. Winners will also receive a monetary prize courtesy of local businesses, valued at $50.
