Kentwood high graduate excels in college

Senior Kelsey Jenkins of Seattle Pacific University was named a winner of NCAA postgraduate scholarships.

A Kent resident, Jenkins attended Kentwood High School and was a top-flight soccer player. She became the 31st and 32nd SPU athletes since 1981 to earn the postgrad scholarships, which currently are valued at $7,500.

Jenkins also has an almost-perfect GPA, sporting a 3.94 as a political science major.
