Sleeping woman awakened by smoke alarm escapes house fire in Covington | Kent Regional Fire Authority

A woman escaped an early morning fire in the 26600 block of 190 Avenue Southeast after her smoke alarm woke her, allowing her to escape without harm. The fire was reported at 2:25 a.m. in the Timberlane area of Covington.
No one else was home at the time of the fire though a total of three adults have been displaced. Family members area assisting and Red Cross was not requested.
When firefighters arrived on scene they found that the fire had already traveled into several rooms and that it had also gotten into the attic space of the small, single story house.
Firefighters from the Kent and Maple Valley Fire Departments responded to the call along with a unit of King County Medic One. A Kent Fire Department Fire Investigator is currently on scene and will determine the cause of the fire.
