Tahoma and Kent school districts closed Tuesday, roads dangerous with compact snow and ice

The Tahoma and Kent school district will be closed Tuesday due to the snow storm that has been battering the region. Also evening activities are canceled and there will be no extended day care.

Parent conference will be rescheduled.

Officials are warning people to drive only if necessary. Roads throughout the region are covered with compact snow and ice. There are also numerous abandoned vehicles on the roads.
