Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety kicked off the department’s open house event Saturday, June 19, with a variety of activities, food and fun.

Along with fire hose action, the Airlift Northwest medical helicopter landed at Station 81 and both children and adults enjoyed touring the chopper.

There were free hamburgers, hot dogs and snow cones for those who attended.

Firefighters demonstrated the Jaws of Life on a car.
