5th Avenue Theatre nominates Kent School District productions for awards | Slide Shows

The musical productions at Kentridge, Kentlake, and Kentwood high schools received nominations for the 5th Avenue Theatre’s 2009-10 High School Musical Awards. The awards ceremony, which is on June 7, highlights the work and devotion of students, parents and staff to live theater.
The nominations are:
Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role – Jacob Axelson as Emile, South Pacific
Outstanding Lighting Design – South Pacific
Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role – Saxton Walker as Scarecrow, The Wizard of Oz
Kentridge
Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role – Natalie Lawrence as Maria Rainer, The Sound of Music
Special Honors: Student Achievement – Andrew Swan for his work as the theater’s sound designer
Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Group – The Nuns, The Sound of Music
Outstanding Music Direction – The Sound of Music
Outstanding Orchestra – The Sound of Music
Outstanding Costume Design – The Sound of Music
Outstanding Stage Crew – The Sound of Music
Outstanding Lobby Display – The Sound of Music
