Derek Eager takes gold in discus and Tate Latimer silver in 100 hurdles | Slide Show 4A State Track and Field

Derek Eager captured the gold medal in the discus with a throw of 179-10 Friday, May 28 at the 4A state meet. Despite a ferocious wind and rain storm, Eager took the event by more than 10 feet.

It was Eager second medal of the 4A state meet at Mount Tahoma. He took the silver in the shot put Thursday. The Tahoma senior will go for his second gold in the javelin Saturday.

Tate Latimer took the silver in the 100-meter hurdle event in the time of 15.14.
