Tahoma track and field star Derek Eager signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of California, Los Angeles Wednesday, April 21.

According to information sent out in an e-mail by Eager’s mother, Sally, he has a full scholarship for five years, which allows him to red shirt his freshman year.

According to Sally Eager, UCLA has what Derek Eager was looking for including academics, a “great javelin coach and sunshine”.

Derek Eager is No. 1 in the state in both the javelin at 229 feet, 5 inches and the discus at 182.9.
