Pilot safe after using a parachute to bring down a hand-made plane in Black Diamond

The pilot of a small hand-made plane found a safe spot to land in Black Diamond after deploying a parachute. The plane had flown from Enumclaw when a bolt came loose.

The pilot of a small hand-made aircraft deployed a parachute to safely bring the plane down in the Black Diamond area at 7:45 p.m. Monday according to information from Mountain View Fire and Rescue.

First reports indicate a bolt came loose while the plane was in flight from Enumclaw.

The pilot used the parachute to bring the aircraft down in a resident’s yard.

According to Mountain View spokesman Tim Perciful, there were no reports of injury to the pilot. Perciful also noted the parachute saved the plane from damage.
