Donations support troops overseas

Donations for U.S. military troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan will be accepted in Covington today as part of a drive organized through Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church.

Donations of food and personal-care items can be made from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Wal-Mart store. Also, unwanted, deactivated cell phones will be collected and exchanged for pre-paid phone cards for troops.
