Football and cheer

The Tahoma junior football and cheer teams are currently accepting new players for the upcoming 2015 season.

Those in first through eighth grade can register now until June 15.

The junior football and cheer team will be holding a fundraiser at the Maple Valley McDonalds on Wednesday, May 20 from 5 to 8 p.m.

A portion of the sales from that night will go toward the program, Director of Publicity Ian Furness wrote in an email.

Volleyball

The 14th annual Maple Valley volleyball program for third through sixth graders is currently happening.

This program allows girls to learn the rules and skills of volleyball and how to work together as a team.

On Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 28 starting at 6 p.m. at Tahoma Junior High School, the girls will be participating in a tournament.

Coaches and local volleyball players help the girls develop their skills.
