TRACK: Kentwood sweeps relays in tri-meet

TRACK AND FIELD

Kentwood hosted a trimeet last Thursday against Thomas Jefferson High and Auburn Riverside.

Both the boys and girls made a strong showing in the field and track events.

For the girls team, Dana Wareham won two individual sprint events along with relay events. She won the 200 meter in 27.46 seconds and he 400 in 1:00.57.

Holly DeHart won the 100 meter in 12.99 and in the field events she took the long jump reaching 15 feet, 8 inches.

Kailey Ulland won the 3,200 in 11:54.20.

Kentwood swept the relay events. The Conquerors were first in the 400-meter relay in 52.89. The runners were Quincie Proctor-Guyton, Kyra Gaines, Deirdre Vasquez and Mykala Benjamin.

The Conquerors also took the 800 relay in 1:51.35. The team members were Benjamin, Proctor-Guyton, Alena Davis and Wareham.

The Kentwood girls won the 1,600 relay in 4:13.76 with Gaines, Megan McNally, Davis and Wareham running.

Alyx Toeaina won the discus reaching 115-9.5 inches.

Lindsey Moore was first in the high jump with 5-03.

Jamie Larsen won the pole vault clearing 10-00.

For the boys team, Devin St. Clair was dominating in two sprint events. He won the 100 in 11.20 and the 400 in 49.45.

Steve Warner took the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.01 and Ricardo Tucker won the 300 hurdles in 41.04.

The Kentwood boys won the 400-meter relay in 45.18 with the runners Tucker, Zach Schneider, Darrius Coleman and Tristan Askew.

The Conqueror won the 1,600 relay in 3:33.30 with Schneider, Tucker, Kevin Bateman and Tim Pettit.

In field events Nathan Herrick took the shot put with a toss of 41-00.0.

Mike Roy won the javelin in 137-06 and Cody Fishel won the high jump reaching 6-04.
