TRACK AND FIELD: Kentwood vs. Tahoma

The Tahoma and Kentwood track and field teams squared off Thursday on a cold and rainy afternoon. The weather may have been chilly, but the athletic action was a bright spot for the day.

The Tahoma girls team won 73-59 and the Kentwood boys team came out on top 78-58.

Savannah Johnson won three individual events for the Bears with a victory in the 200 meter in 26.37 seconds. Johnson also took the long jump reaching 17 feet, 1 inches and the triple jump with 36-11.

Chelsea Olson took the 800 in 2:41.17 and Molli Bahlenhorst the 1,600 in 5:24.38.

Julianna Mock was tops in the 3,200 in 12:07.9.

In the hurdle events Sierra Haverfield won the 100-meter in 17.04 and Tate Latimer won the 300 in 46.96.

The Bears swept the relay events with Mande McKinney, Cassidy Richmond, Mollie Picha and Alexis Taylor winning the 400 meter in 51.78.

Tate Latimer, Kassie Jensen, Johnson and McKinney were the best relay team in the 800 meter in 1:54.68.

Tahoma won the 1,600 relay in 4:17.66 with Bahlenhorst, Richmond, Sarah Jeric and Lauren Clawson.

Kentwood star Lindsey Moore won two events throwing the javelin 105-04 for first. Moore followed with a victory in the high jump reaching 5-4.

In other field events for Kentwood Alyx Toeaina won two events taking the shot put marking 37-10 and the discus with a throw of 115.

Jamie Larson was best in the pole vault reaching 9-6.

In track events for Kentwood, Holly DeHart won the 100-meter sprint for the Conquerors in 13.28

Dana Wareham won the 400 in 1:1.7

On the boys side for the Conquerors, Devin St. Clair took the 100-meter sprint in 11.3 and the 200 in 22.67.

Tim Pettit hit the finish line first in the 800 in 2:3.67.

Steven Warner won both hurdle events for the boys taking the 110 meter in 14.98 and the 300 in 39.94.

The Kentwood boys won the 400-meter relay in 44.9. The team members were Ricardo Tucker, Devin St. Clair, Darrius Coleman and Tristan Askew.

Tucker, Askew, Pettit and Warner won the 1,600 relay in 3:41.66.

In field events for Kentwood, Nathan Herrick won the shot put in 41-1.

Cody Fishel was best in the high jump reaching 6-4 and Kevin Bateman won the long jump marking 17-7.5.

For the Bears, Cody Gilje won two individual events taking the 400 in 53.15 and the triple jump reaching 39-3.

Casey Campbell excelled in distance running winning the 1,600 in 4:36.5 and the 3,200 in 10:22.13.

Skyler Rubadue won the discus throw for the Bears with 124-8.

Derek Eager won the javelin reaching 133-8 and Evan Schneider took the pole vault at 10-6.
