The Tahoma baseball team took one loss, but picked up two important victories moving the boys up in the South Puget Sound League, 4A North Division. The team is in third place as the season turns into the final stretch of games and the prospect of post season play looks bright for the Bears.

Tahoma, as of the press deadline, was at 7-5 in the division and 10-6 overall. Kentwood leads at 13-0 and Federal Way is in second at 9-4.

The Bears took Auburn 9-7 Monday at home with Jordan Johansen getting the win pitching three innings, giving up five hits and three runs with five Ks.

Jerad Casper and Taylor Smart each went on a power hitting tear. Casper went 2-3 with two home runs and three RBIs and Smart posted the same stats.

Friday at home Tahoma won 8-5 with Casper picking up the win, throwing five frames, striking out nine and giving up four runs and three hits. Brian Olson earned the save.

Derek Johnson, Olson and Lance Schroder all cleared the fence with a home run.

Cloud went 2-4, Johansen 2-2 with a double and Smart 2-4.

Tahoma’s loss came April 23 in a nail biter against Kentwood, with the Bears falling 4-3 at home.

The game was tied in the seventh, with the Conks staring at their first defeat.

Kentwood pulled it out with a run in the top of the seventh, but, Tahoma proved it can run with the best in the league.

Cloud took the loss.

Olson was 1-2 with two RBIs and Tyler Watkins went 2-4 with one RBI.
