The Tahoma Bears boys lacrosse team traveled to Ohio State University for a team camp and tournament held July 19-21.
The team consisted of 17 players, including incoming freshmen as well as returning sophomores, juniors and both coaches, Brian Johnson and Nick Johnson.
The Bears won 4 of 5 games in round robin play losing in overtime 2-1 to an elite team from Wisconsin. The Bears advanced through two games in the playoffs finally losing to the nationally ranked Delaware high school state champions, Salesianum High School, in the semifinals.
In addition, four Tahoma boys were named to the All-Star team—Macen Granlund, Chad Hedlund, Brody Sullivan and Kyle Dige, the most of any team in the tournament. The all-stars had the opportunity to play in the world famous Ohio stadium.
The Bears will now prepare for the 2014 season. The varsity boys only lost one player from last years squad and will be looking to make a run in the state playoffs for their 2014 campaign.
