SLIDE SHOW TRACK: Tahoma track and field team host Kentlake

The Tahoma track team had a busy week hosting Kentlake April 30 and competing in invitational meets Saturday.

The girls team attended the Lake Washington Invitational at Eastlake High Saturday and finished second out of 50 places with 49 points. Skyline came in first with 52.

The boys traveled to the Shoreline invitational Saturday at Shoreline Stadium in Seattle. The team finished 50th out of 57 places.

At the Lake Washington meet, Savannah Johnson showed her stuff by acing the triple jump with a leap of 39 feet, 4.50 inches.

Johnson also won the long jump reaching 17-7.5. The senior star ran third in the 200-meter sprint in 25.77 seconds.

Tate Latimer ran third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.33.

The girls 800-meter relay team ran second in 1:45.25. The team members were Mollie Picha, Mande McKinney, Johnson and Latimer.

Tahoma hosted Kentlake track and field team April 30 and the Bears come out on the winning side with both the boys and girls team.

The boys won 70-66 and the girls 107.5-33.

For the girls, Johnson took the 200 in 25.94 and the triple jump at 36-10.

McKinney won the 400 in 64.20 and Lauren Clawson crossed first in the 800 in 2:30.1.

Chelsea Olson won the 1600 in 5:37.7 and Molli Bahlenhorst the 3200 in 11:50.4.

Latimer cleaned up in the hurdle events, taking the 100-meter in 15.6 and the 300 in 48.23.

The 400-meter rely team of Picha, Cassidy Richmond, Alexis Taylor and McKinney won in 51.01.

The 800 relay team of McKinney, Picha, Latimer and Ivy Johnson won in 1:48.2.

In field events, Nadine Hyde won the discus reaching 87-5 and Laura Merle took the javelin event at 88-10

Bianca Walton was best in the long jump hitting 17-4.

For the boys team, Charles Tilander won the 800 in 2:05.1 and Connor Caler took the 1,600 in 4:35.3.

Kelton Sears won the 3,200 in 9:50.4.

Nick Castagna won the 300 hurdles in 43.72.

Aaron Davis won the shot put with a throw of 41-2.

Derek Eager won two field events with a victory in the discus at 147 and the javelin at 159-6.

Evan Schneider took the pole vault topping out at 12-0
